AUVSI AUV Competition
The AUVSI Competition for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles started in 1998 with only four competitors. Since then, it has grown to include almost thirty teams with many international entrants. Amador Valley High School first entered in 2000, and has been competing with various AUVs against college teams ever since.
In the competition, team vehicles face challenges such as passing through a gate, following a pipeline and finding an acoustic pinger. For more information about the tasks, please refer to the current mission.
The TRANSDEC facility in San Diego, California has hosted the competition in recent years. It is a naval testing pool, designed as anechoic to simulate an infinite body of water. |
